Regular Slotted Carton (RSC)

This is our most common box style. There are four flaps, top and bottom, with the outer flaps meeting in the center when folded. The RSC can have a glued, taped or stitched corner seam. Flute direction usually runs parallel to the depth as this provides good stacking strength. Can be used for most product types.

Full Overlap Slotted Carton (FOL)

A variation of the RSC, the FOL also has 4 flaps on the top and bottom. The outer flaps come within one inch of complete overlap. This box style provides good protection against rough handling and is often the choice style when the width of the box is narrow relative to the length of the box.

Trays

Trays have an unbroken bottom with no top and are generally not used as a shipping container on their own. Flaps on slotted trays are taped or stapled by the end user to form the sides of the container. Die cut 4-sided locking trays have self locking tabs on the side flaps for easy assembly. Trays are often used for produce items, storage, or as elements of display stands.

A telescopic tray top (lid) and bottom used together may be used as a shipping container. The tray top’s inside dimensions would equal the outside dimensions of the tray bottom to allow the two parts to fit together.

The Pad/Sheet is a flat piece of corrugated with or without scores. Amongst its many functions, pads are often used as an added layer of protection, to separate products or layers of product, to cover pallets, or as a space filler.

Inserts

Inserts may take many shapes and are generally used for supporting, cushioning, or separating product in a master carton. This inner packaging may also be used to suspend product or to fill space.
